Why Chronos for Attractions?

Attractions are highly competitive – audiences should immersed from start to finish, and expect the very best from their out of home experience.

Many attractions have lots of scene changes, from dark to light and day to night. Similar to simulation applications, it’s important to maintain a continuous, high quality experience to handle of forms of content that makes the most of the benefit of maximum dynamic range.

Creatives, consultants, producers, engineers, system designers, integrators and operators involved in the production of themed attractions – they all value the critical importance of realism and immersion.

Optimised for use within highly immersive and dark audience venues and visitor experiences, our channel blending technologies have met stringent regulations as demanded by

military and civil aviation simulation industries, and stand as the market’s highest performance independent optical blending solution.

Our technologies are used for high performance visitor attraction display blending, working especially well with challenging or unusual display design configurations.

When so much is invested in the highest quality custom content production and leading-edge display and interactive technologies, it is vital that every element of the experience is seamless to the naked eye.

GBvi’s custom optical blending solutions are compatible with a wide range of projector configurations, brands and models – including those manufactured by Norxe, Christie, Barco, Digital Projection, Sony, JVC, Canon, Epson and Panasonic.

Our proven optical blending solutions are chosen by leading integrators and technology partners for the most demanding attractions applications

Which Chronos is best for your project?

Chronos Glass: Chrome

Designed to enable a seamless image across multiple projector channels, it is ideal for digital planetarium applications.

SUITABLE FOR: VERY HIGH LIGHT OUTPUT PROJECTORS

Chronos Glass: Greyscale

Addresses the ‘small 4K’ and 8K class of projection systems where some optical trade-offs are most challenging, particularly with laser-phosphor illumination.

For the highest fidelity, continuous time of day (CTOD) scenarios, Chronos Glass: Greyscale is typically our primary recommendation.

SUITABLE FOR: ATTRACTIONS WITH DISPLAYS THAT DO NOT USE VERY HIGH LIGHT OUTPUT PROJECTORS – TYPICALLY FOR LASER-PHOSPHOR ILLUMINATED, DLP AND LCOS PROJECTORS FROM A WIDE RANGE OF MANUFACTURERS.

Chronos Foil

Designed for use with mask actuation systems and with very high brightness projectors.

SUITABLE FOR: VERY HIGH LIGHT OUTPUT PROJECTORS AND ACTUATED DAY/NIGHT SYSTEMS

Process and Approach for Attraction Projects
1

We obtain data on your display design for which you require optical blends.

2

We review your display design and advise on it if necessary.

3

We then create a display model so we may calculate blends.

4

We produce the masks with guidance for customer installation.

5

Optionally, we can provide validation masks for in-system testing prior to glass supply.

6

Additionally, for retrofits, we can help extract primary data for customers to aid successful installation.
