GBvi to demonstrate Chronos Greyscale optical edge-blending within integrated visual system at ITEC 2026

Joint demonstration with Norxe, Scalable Display Technologies and AMST-Systemtechnik GmbH brings together a complete visual pipeline for high performance simulation

GBvi will exhibit at ITEC 2026 in London from 14 to 16 April on booth M30, demonstrating its Chronos Greyscale optical projector edge-blending technologies as part of a fully integrated visual system.

The demonstration will be delivered in partnership with Norxe, Scalable Display Technologies and AMST-Systemtechnik GmbH, bringing together four specialist companies, working as one system. The demonstration combines a complete visual pipeline from image generation through to projection, geometry correction and optical projector edge-blending – designed to work together from the outset rather than being retrofitted.

The system will use a fast jet training scenario, including agile manoeuvres, low level flight, air-to-air refuelling and high contrast conditions. These scenes are intentionally challenging, placing real demands on image generation, projection, alignment and blending performance.

Each stage of the pipeline plays a critical role:

  • Image generation using VISIM IG from AMST-Systemtechnik GmbH
  • High performance projection from Norxe
  • Automated alignment and calibration from Scalable Display Technologies
  • Chronos Optical projector edge-blending across the full display by GBvi

Within this integrated system, GBvi will provide the Chronos Greyscale optical projector edge-blending that ensures a seamless image across channel boundaries. The focus is on maintaining visual fidelity across the full display, even in high dynamic conditions.

GBvi’s Chronos Greyscale optical projector edge-blending solutions remove visible artefacts within blend zones and provides a fixed blending approach enabling flawless transitions across all time of day scenarios, including Night Vision Goggle (NVG) training.

Colour correction within the blends compensates for projector behaviour that can otherwise cause discolouration, while preserved black levels maximise system contrast without the need for infill.

The result is a sharper, clearer and more consistent visual experience, where improved realism contributes directly to more effective training outcomes.

With over fifteen years of experience, GBvi operates as an independent and projector agnostic provider, supporting simulator and visual system integrators across a wide range of applications. Thousands of blend channels have been deployed globally, with systems in use in mission critical training environments where reliability and visual accuracy are essential.

The system can be experienced live as a three-channel projection setup at ITEC 2026 on booth M30 from 14 to 16 April at Excel, London.

See More. Train Better.

Experience GBvi’s Chronos Greyscale optical edge-blending within a fully integrated visual system in London this ITEC, from 14-16 April – where we are proudly exhibiting in partnership with Norxe, Scalable Display Technologies and AMST-Systemtechnik GmbH.

In high-end simulation, performance is defined by what the trainee sees…

That depends on how accurately the full visual pipeline performs, from image generation through to projection, alignment and blending.

The demonstration brings together a complete visual pipeline:

A fast-jet training scenario will be used to test the system, including agile manoeuvres, low level flight, air-to-air refuelling and high contrast conditions.

These scenarios place real demands on visual consistency and system performance.

GBvi’s Capability

GBvi specialises in providing optical blending solutions, enhancing the visual display system in training simulators. Our products and services enable integrators to overcome the issues faced when using digital projectors in dark environments – solving light leakage, channel overlap visibility, NVG performance and overall display system contrast and dynamic range.

Chronos Greyscale optical edge-blending provides a fixed solution to maintain a consistent image across channel boundaries:

  • No visible artefacts across blend zones
  • Seamless transitions across all time-of-day scenarios, including NVG
  • Colour correction within blends to compensate for projector behaviour
  • Preserved black levels without the need for infill

The GBvi Approach

As an independent and projector agnostic provider, GBvi supports a wide range of simulation and visual system integrators globally.

IT²EC 2025 – A Successful Showcase and a Stronger Partnership

That’s a wrap on IT²EC 2025 in Oslo – and what an event it was! The joint presence of AMST-Systemtechnik GmbH, Norxe, Scalable Display Technologies, and GBvi highlighted not only the technical strength of the visual system that we exhibited, but also the power of true collaboration.

From setup to teardown, from answering questions to demonstrating the system, it was a team effort through and through. Everyone contributed to making the showcase at booth C10 smooth, professional, and engaging.

The result: a flawless demonstration of high-fidelity image generation, projection, warping, and optical blending, brought together in one seamlessly integrated solution.

But what truly made this event special was the spirit of partnership. Our evenings together—exploring Oslo, sharing stories, and enjoying a memorable dinner—strengthened the bond between our teams and reminded us why working together works so well. A special thank you to our friends at Norxe for the warm hospitality and for showing us around the capital of their home country.

Thank you to everyone who visited our booth, shared insights, and helped make this event a success.

Congratulations to Dan on his Ten Year Anniversary with GBvi!
